Frida inspired...

This collection of beads was inspired by the Frida Kahlo painting shown at left. The vibrant colors she uses are also in the glass palette I use to make beads. Rich, festive and juicy colors will enliven your latest bead project. I had fun putting the combinations together and hope you will too.

A little more about the painting: Self Portrait - The Frame, 1938

In this unusual self portrait by Kahlo, she seems to be experimenting with "mixed medium". The self portrait of Frida and the blue background are painted on a sheet of aluminum while the boarder of birds and flowers is painted on the back side of a glass that lays on top of the portrait. This painting became the first work by a 20th century Mexican artist to be purchased by the Louvre.

If you purchase this collection of 11 beads individually the price would be $103. However, if purchased as a group you will receive the special price of $93!
